  • Disney connected their corporate dots to give “Big Hero 6″ a huge debut this week on the DAR leaderboard. During an airing of the ABC special “The Story of Frozen: Making a Disney Animated Classic,” they debuted the latest Big Hero 6 clip, successfully connecting the dots between on-air reach and online engagement, driving over 1.3MM views of the clip on YouTube.
  • With the DVD release approaching (9/16), “The Fault in Our Stars” is driving engagement all over Facebook. This week, the film asked on their official facebook page, “Would you say “I love you” even if the other person might not say it back?”, and the answers poured in. The post was engaged with over 200K times and the film jumped up from 4th to 2nd on the DAR leaderboard.
  • Landing on the Top 5 and Trending leaderboards this week, “Horrible Bosses 2” gave the fans what they wanted with the premiere of the film’s new trailer. This marks the first appearance on the DAR Top 5 for any Thanksgiving weekend film openings.

Insights:
  • Leading the ratings this week, “The Tonight Show” racked up audience love thanks to Fallon’s musical skits with special guests Adam Levine and Meghan Trainor. Combined, these two videos drove over 15M views thanks to promotion for the videos acrossFacebook and Twitter.
  • As fall premiere season draws closer, new and returning series are experiencing a surge in engagement thanks to fan hype and marketing machinations. “The Mysteries of Laura” topped this week’s Trending list, two weeks out from its series premiere, thanks to a major surge in views of the official trailer. Sporting a DAR of 540,166, it’s still trailing the top-rated freshman broadcast program this week, the CW’s “The Flash,” which registered an 840,172 and has been consistently in that range for several weeks.
  • Three weeks out from its season four premiere, “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown” has started to light up Facebook – a tune-in reminder post for the premiere, featuring a photo of Bourdain and a link to the show’s official site was the show’s second best performing Facebook post of 2014, behind only the show’s season three tune-in reminder.
